20th Annual New Year’s Eve – Oil City’s First Night
First Night is an indoor event. It does not matter what the temperature is on the outside. The warmth of community spirit and the energy of the professionals who are performing for the crowd keep everyone toasty. You can stay at one place all night if you wish. If not, hop a bus or drive to the next venue. Watch the fireworks from your car. Although, there are two 6′ high bonfires at the Central Avenue Plaza and in Justus Park by which you can warm up. Just think, these bonfires are as high as the snow they just got in Erie. But dress in layers if you must walk around outside.
Hand in Hand Christian Counseling will be providing two-fifteen passenger buses to the event this year. There will be two stops on the northside – next to McDonalds and in front of the Trinity Church and Transit Building on Center St. Southside stops will be at Grace UM Church and Calvary UM Church. Take advantage of this warm and convenient way to get between the north and south sides.
Here is the southside schedule. There is such a variety of music at First Night and you can travel from place to place, staying as long as you wish. Our motto is “There is so much to do, you won’t be able to do it all!”
Here is the northside schedule with all of the children’s events, crafts, procession, drum circle and some great adult performers too!
