Fundraiser for Local Parker Man
Mark you calendar for Wednesday, February 21, for 5pm at the Emlenton Bingo Hall. This is a dinner/bingo fundraiser you will not want to miss.
Paul Brewer, 60, was A Wal-Mart truck driver for almost 23 years and while out over the road in October he began to feel poorly and went to a local hospital and found out that he has Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct cancer) which is a very rare form of cancer that only 8,000 in the US have been diagnosed with.
By the time that Paul found out about his cancer it had already metastasized to his liver, lungs and bones and was give a terminal diagnosis.
Paul’s wife, Christine, has taken an unpaid leave of absence from her employer to spend the rest of Paul’s days by his side and to care for him.
Paul has 6 wonderful grandchildren as you can see in his picture, 2 daughters, a son and a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law who are spending as much time with Paul as they can.
Paul is enjoying time with his family and with his wife at his side, but all of the added expenses from his illness and with his wife not working his local community decided to have a benefit bingo in his honor to help with the cost of his treatment, travel, doctor and hospital expenses.
The benefit bingo and dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at the Emlenton Bingo Hall.
The dinner begins at 5pm, and bingo begins at 7pm.
It will include rigatoni with or without meatballs, dessert, and a drink for $7 or a meatball sub, dessert, and a drink for $6.
Tickets for the raffle items and 50/50 drawing will be available for purchase at 5pm. with winners being selected at the end of the evening. It is not necessary to be present to win.
