“The Music Man” revolves around Harold Hill, a traveling con man who arrives in River City, Iowa to begin a new con. A master of duplicity, he quickly convinces the locals to start a marching band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him… with the intention of fleeing as soon as he gets the cash. Marian Paroo, the librarian, suspects Harold is a fraud, but she holds her tongue since her little brother, Winthrop, is excited about the prospects of the band. There is newfound trouble in River City when Harold begins to develop feelings for Marian, which forces him to make a decision about the kind of man he wants to be.
